CVB Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Update - First, and most importantly, there have still been no confirmed observations of oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill anywhere near Southeast Florida to date. However, on July 2, NOAA issued a new Fact Sheet specifically addressing the possible impact of oil to the east coast of South Florida.  As you know, the Loop Current is the main factor contributing to the possibility of oil being carried around the state and eventually to our beaches. However, for this to happen, a number of specific oceanographic conditions would need to change for oil to reach our shores. These remain somewhat unpredictable as a result of changing weather and other current conditions. If the oil does reach South Florida, it will most likely be in the form of weathered tar balls - something Florida has known and dealt with before, and would be prepared to handle.  We continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and will alert you if any changes occur. Our current message - "Our beaches are clean and open for business" will continue to be communicated on website (PalmBeachFL.com) to the leisure traveler. The Palm Beach CVB will continue to post pictures on PalmBeachFL.com, and on VISIT FLORIDA's Florida Live web page.

The Baseball Bash will be held on Thursday, February 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter.
